PALOH: Villagers in Paloh, Kedang and Berangan are urged to exercise patience as the road project in the area, which is slated for execution, demands a considerable amount of time for completion.

Tanjung Manis MP Yusuf Wahab said the project is still in the process of evaluation, inspection and study involving all parties concerned.

He anticipates that the physical implementation can commence as early as next year, subject to the ongoing evaluation.

“At this moment, the road project from Paloh to Tanjung Manis has been approved with an allocation of RM267 million by the federal government, but it is still insufficient.

“Therefore, the Sarawak government has approved an allocation of RM500 million to complete all facilities, including two main bridges at Batang Paloh and Batang Belawai,” he said during a recent programme with the community of Kampung Berangan.

Meanwhile, he said that political stability and the strength of the people’s support for the government would ensure that all developments could be carried out systematically and orderly.

Additionally, he stated that cooperation and good relations between the people and leaders would facilitate representatives, whether Members of Parliament or state assemblymen (ADUN), in accelerating local socio-economic development.

He said all of this has been manifested in the various infrastructure developments that have been implemented, especially in Kampung Paloh, Kedang and Berangan.

Yusuf added that although there was still much-needed infrastructure, what has been provided at present has greatly brought comfort to the people.
