KUCHING: Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) would like to clarify that a video of a unique animal found roaming here that went viral recently is not true.
In a Facebook posting, SFC said the said animal, which was allegedly found in Mongkos, Serian was not true and the video clip that was circulated is from a foreign country.
“It is hoped that this statement will enlighten the netizens,” it said on late yesterday (Feb 19) evening.
Previously on Feb 15, a Facebook page shared a 30-second long video which showed the alleged animal roaming around.
The video was captioned in Sarawak Malay language as saying “binatang apa tok? Ditemu sidak di Mongkos” (What kind of animal is this? It is found in Mongkos).
At the time of writing, the video garnered over 11,000 likes and reactions and 5,200 shares among Facebook users.
