MUKAH: The people must be fully prepared to be vaccinated when the vaccination schedule is announced in the near future.

According to Jemoreng Assemblyman Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya said this to avoid wastage when the vaccine comes.

“Each bottle contains six doses (shared by six people). Once it is opened it can no longer be stored. The vaccination process is fast so the public should not worry much about it,” he told Suara Sarawak.

He added that the vaccination programme needs cooperation from the people to ensure its success and smoothness.

“In fact, the government targets all the people in the state to be vaccinated by August,” he said.

He also advised the people not to be afraid to take the vaccine because based on his experience of getting both doses of the vaccine, there are no side effects.

“To the community leaders, I say do not forget to inform those responsible if there are people who need transportation or other assistance such as wheelchairs and so on to facilitate this vaccination,” he said.

Juanda also urged all senior citizens aged 60 and above to immediately register and apply for the Kenyalang Gold Card from the Welfare Department.

Earlier today, he also handed over the cards to 40 senior citizens whose applications had been approved.
