KUCHING: The Social and Welfare Bureau of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kampung Paya Mebi has provided a wheelchair to a stroke victim.
Mohammad Zainon Bungog, 47, is paralysed and bedridden since a month ago.
The presentation was done by Batu Kitang PBB secretary, who is also PBB Social and Welfare Bureau chairman, Shamsudin Unai during the Saberkas Folk Sports yesterday.
Present were Saberkas executive secretary Izuan Haironi and Kampung Paya Mebi headman Ismail Tangok.
According to Shamsudin, the presentation of the aid was part of the Bantuan Kasih programme organised by the bureau to lessen the burden of the needy.
“This is a continuous programme to help alleviate the burden of the less privileged,” he added.
Shamsudin revealed that since 2003, the programme had helped a lot of patients with chronic illness, the elderly and schoolchildren.
