LUNDU: The ‘Cabaran Interaktif Pengguna Kelab Pengguna Sekolah (CIP-KPS) Peringkat Negeri Sarawak 2023’ has provided a great platform for interactive learning and nurturing smart young consumers.

Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Sarawak director Matthew Dominic Barin said that CIP-KPS is an educational competition that encourages exploration and interactive learning. It tests students’ knowledge, competence, and teamwork while emphasising essential aspects of consumerism.

He said these aspects include basic consumer protection, healthy eating, wise financial management, environmental preservation, and team building.

“The focus on these aspects is crucial at the school level to create knowledgeable consumers who can protect themselves and contribute to the country’s well-being in the future,” Matthew said this in a statement at the CIP-KPS competition, which took place on August 7 and 8 at the UNION YES Retreat & Training Centre here.

Matthew hoped that participants will share their newfound knowledge with their friends, teachers, family, and community members to apply it in their daily lives.
