Youth fined RM4,500 for damaging family property

KUCHING: The Magistrates Court today (Mar 26) fined an unemployed man RM4,500 for damaging family property and being involved in drug abuse activities.

Fakhrul Hisham Zainudin, 24, pleaded guilty to two charges before Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan.

According to the charges, Fakhrul was accused of intentionally damaging his mother’s standing fan and smashing his sister’s car mirror, causing damages amounting to RM700.

He committed the offences at their residence in Kampung Sungai Bako, around 7 p.m. on March 22 last month.

Based on the facts of the case, the mother of the accused lodged a police report regarding the incident where her adopted son went berserk, damaging the fan and breaking her daughter’s car mirror.

Meanwhile, in the same court, Fakhrul was fined RM2,500 or six months’ imprisonment for involvement in drug abuse activities.

Fakhrul was found positive for drugs during his detention at the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division of the Kuching District Police Headquarters, on March 21, 2023.
