SARIKEI: The younger members of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) have been called upon to continue the party’s struggle.

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said since the establishment of the party in 1959, it has fought for the interest of the people in the state.

“As new or younger members of the party, we should continue the main goals and objectives of the party.

“This is because our forefathers have fought hard to obtain independence as well as improve Sarawak’s economy and wellbeing of the people,” he said at a flag raising ceremony held in conjunction with SUPP 64th anniversary.

Huang, who is also the Sarikei MP was represented by Kapitan Ling Dien Yong at the flag raising ceremony held at the Repok Constituency Service Centre on Sunday (June 4).
