KUCHING: Art is a mirror that reveals the soul. As art enthusiasts begin to appreciate their work, the initial financial challenges became minor hurdles to their creative pursuits.

These words of Frida Kahlo resonate with the spirit of the “Tangga2: Duo Art Exhibition,” a month-long celebration of creativity and culture taking place at Zoey’s Books & Coffee in Carpenter Street, until Nov 17.

“This exceptional exhibition features the works of two local artists, D2K and Amy Amin, showcasing a collection of 26 artworks created between 2016 and 2023,”it said through a statement.

D2K’s art is characterised by its ever-evolving nature; he believes that his artworks are never truly finished, always open to the addition of more details and strokes on the canvas.

Amy Amin’s artistic prowess shines through her portrayals of Sarawakian ethnically attired cats.

She is renowned for incorporating ethnic identities into her artworks, which serves as a pathway for her to explore and understand the diverse cultures of Sarawak and her own ethnic background.
