MIRI: The auxiliary firemen of Long Bemang delivered a total of 120 food baskets to flood affected villagers of Kampung Long Bemang today.
A total 22 of them helped to carry out the humanitarian aid and disaster relief mission using seven boats.
It was reported that 100 households in the village were affected by the flood following continuous downpour last Sunday (Oct 9).
Kampung Long Bemang has a total of 530 residents.
The water level in the village yesterday showed a slight decline which was 4.5 feet compared to Tuesday’s 4.9 feet.
As of yesterday, no families were evacuated from their homes.
Electricity was also cut off at the affected area for the residents’ safety.
