13 WTF exponents competing in 2023 Asian Taekwondo Club Championships

KUCHING: The Sarawak Taekwondo Federation (WTF) is sending 13 exponents to the 2023 Asian Taekwondo Club Championships held in Shenzhen, China, from August 11 to 15.
 
Its president Azizul Annuar Adenan said in a statement that the team will be led by state technical chairman Grand Master Tan Check Joon and assisted by team coaches Purim Purintaphiban and Eimran Ghaffary Mohamad Daud.
 
“It has always been our aim to provide an opportunity and to develop more young Sarawakian potential for top-flight competition.
 
“I am confident our athletes will deliver in both kyorugi and poomsae events at this Asian Taekwondo meet.
 
“I am sure they will spur the rest of the members to train harder and become eligible to represent the state and to perform well in the 2024 Malaysia Games (SUKMA), which will be held in August next year in Sarawak,” he said.
 
Clement Law Mien Mua, Leoston Kok Zi Yi, Jong Thian Fatt, Chai Soon Hian, and Puteri Durratun Zulaikha Samat will be competing in the kyorugi event, while Zara Nur Zafirah Mohd Yusof, Fedealis Kom Twin, Iris Nur Irdina Mohd Yusof, Awanis Maisara Mohamad Nor Arbi, Cinta Kirana Mohamad Nazid, Harry Daniel Hunter, Anuwath Sarat, and Emerald Cole Willie will be competing in the poomsae event.
