22 top scorers from SMK Batu Lintang

KUCHING: A total of 22 out of 287 SMK Batu Lintang candidates who sat for the 2017 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination scored straight As.

According to the school Senior Academic Assistant Png Hellon, the school achieved 3.88 GPS.

“For the 2017 SPM, our expected target result is 3.88 GPS, but for the record we achieve 3.94 GPS which included the special education result. If we exclude the special education result we manage to achieve our target which is 3.88 GPS,” Png told this to reporters during the official announcement of the 2017 SPM result at the school, yesterday.

Meanwhile, Barry Gama, who sat for the 2017 SPM examination said that he did not expect much but was surprised with the result.

“I am expecting a poor result but after receiving the result slip today, I am very grateful.  I also achieve all my targets for the SPM examination and my parents are also very thankful for it,” said Barry.

He added that he looking for a suitable university to continue his study.

Another SMK Batu Lintang student, Alliya Asyween said that she is a bit nervous before seeing her result and thought she might have failed in some subjects.

“But after seeing the result, I felt relieved as this would help me in my application to enter university to continue my study,” she said.

Anathasa Senorita, who was accompanied by her mother was surprised with her SPM result as it was better than expected.

“The SPM result exceeded my expectation but I tried my best and am very happy with the result,” Anathasa said, adding that after getting the result she is planning to apply for a place at a university of her choice.  As for Alicia Ruth Nawi, she said her SPM result was as she has expected.

“The result is as I have expected because I did my best and I am planning to apply for entry to a local university to continue my study,” said Alicia.

SMK Batu Lintang registered a total of 287 students in 2017 for the SPM examination and a total of 22 students successfully getting straight-A result.
