MIRI: A pickup truck and motorcycle collision along Jalan Batu 1, Kuala Baram, resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man last night.
Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed that they had received a report pertaining to the accident which happened around 7.45pm.
Investigation found that the pickup truck driven by a 69-year-old man, which was entering an intersection towards Senadin, had collided with the victim’s motorcycle that was heading towards Lutong.
Due to the collision, the victim’s motorcycle was dragged to the right side of the road by the pickup truck before it caught on fire.
Alexson said that paramedics confirmed that the victim died at the scene.
An investigation paper has been opened and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
