46 NGOs in Senadin receive grants

MIRI: A total of 46 educational, religious, social and youth organisations under Senadin constituency received project funds amounting at RM404,000.

A simple handing over ceremony of these funds was held on Saturday by its assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin at the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Senadin branch office here.

The funds given to the various organisations are to support their various programmes and activities which will complement or supplement some of the government programmes.

Lee, who is also Transport Minister, expressed the hope the associations that have received the activity grants could start to organise educational, charitable and social programmes. Some of the funds given to religious bodies are for maintenance and repair of buildings.

Also present at the event was Cr Jeffery Phang.
