5.4M quake rattles Papua

JAKARTA: An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale rocks northwest of Papua, Indonesia, today.

The earthquake which centred at 47 Km northwest of Jayapura-Papua took place at 1.39 pm Western Indonesian time.

According to the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, the quake did not cause a tsunami.

So far, there had been no report of the impact of the quake on residents and localities. – Bernama
