53 receive MRP grants

KUCHING: 53 recipients received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants from Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations, and Project Monitoring, Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali at Samariang Service Centre yesterday.

The recipients comprised nine Parents Teachers Associations (PTAs) from primary and secondary schools in Samariang, 25 Surau and Masjid committee members and 19 Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) members.

“This is an annual assist which aimed to ease and helping the recipients to finance their yearly activities, as well as encourage and develop community wellbeing,

“I hope the recipients can utilise the allocation very well and advocate many interesting activities that can attract the community to take part as well as strengthen the ties with each other,

“By advocating such good activities, we hope it can improve our social life and sustain unity among community in Samariang area,” she pointed out.

During the ceremony, Hasidah also handed certificates of “Tadbir Urus Desa” to 11 community leaders who took part in the course programme under Ministry of Rural and Regional Development in collaboration with Universiti Kuala Lumpur last year.
