KOTA SAMARAHAN: A total of fifty-five auxiliary policemen attached to Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) concluded their T-baton training course conducted at the university’s Dewan Kampus Timur here recently.

Aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of auxiliary police units in using T-Baton while enhancing their physical strength to meet the challenges from time to time, the event’s closing ceremony was officiated at by Unimas registrar Henry Tening.

In addition, it could also inculcate pure values and reinforce discipline among auxiliary police to meet the needs of the organisation.

Due to the growing number of students and vehicles, as well as the increasing complexity of the threat, the security element is not an easy thing to do within an organisation.

With such advanced course, Unimas’ auxiliary police unit would not only serve as an eye and ear to the authorities but also as an effective assistant in preventing crime and thus lowering crime rates in the campus. The training was also participated by 10 Ibraco auxiliary policemen.
