KUCHING: A total of 72 Ramadan Bazaar lots will be offered at Medan Niaga Satok here for interested traders in conjunction with the upcoming fasting month.
Members of the public who are interested can obtain the relevant forms at the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) office on Feb 20 at 10am to apply for the rental spaces.
Sarawak FAMA director Ramli Mat Sani stated that the permit approval from the Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) has been obtained to carry out the bazaar operation this year.
“We are grateful to have received DBKU’s permission to open the bazaar site with an estimated 72 lots to be provided.”
He made the statement during a FAMA Fest 2024 media briefing at his office here on Thursday (Feb 15).
In this regard, he expressed hope that the public would seize the opportunity to apply for the rental spaces provided during this Ramadan.
“It is undeniable that the rental spaces for this bazaar are always fully booked by traders until we receive excessive applications.”
Meanwhile, Ramli also revealed that the Ramadan Bazaar managed by FAMA is always executed with neatness and uniformity.
“That’s our uniqueness. We prefer standardisation among traders for a cleaner and more organized setup.
“At the same time, we also emphasise the cleanliness of this market area for the health and comfort of the public.”
