90% of spaces at 2020 defence exhibition already spoken for

KUCHING: Defence Services Asia 2020 (DSA 2020) is on track for another stellar showing with a high profile showcase of cutting-edge defence and security technologies and services from around the world.

Ranked as Asia’s largest and leading defence and security exhibition, DSA 2020 is scheduled to be held from April 20 to 23, 2020 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) in Kuala Lumpur DSA.

Together with National Security Asia 2020 (Natsec Asia 2020) it has already received great response from leading international defence and security companies.

At a recent IDEX 2019 exhibition held in Abu Dhabi, Army chief General Datuk Seri Panglima Ahmad Hasbullah Mohd Nawawi witnessed the signing of participation contracts by four country pavilions and four independent participants at DSA 2020 booth.

The country groups comprised the United States of America, Italy, Switzerland and Germany while the independent participants were FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A S from Turkey; Jadara Equipment and Defence System Co from Jordan, Milkor (Pty) Ltd from South Africa and Yugoimport-SDPR from the Republic of Serbia.

Also in attendance were Brigadier General Toharudin Abd Rasid (Assistant Chief of Staff for Defence Logistics at the Armed Forces headquarters) and Col Mohd Rashidin Hashimi Abd Rashid (director of the army’s research and evaluation).

Ahmad later witnessed the signing of a sponsorship agreement between MBDA and DSA Exhibition & Conference Sdn Bhd for the VIP Recreational and Networking Programme during DSA 2020.

With the signing, 40 percent of the space booking has been confirmed while 50 percent has been reserved.

DSA 2020 which is fully supported by the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) is organised by DSA Exhibition and Conference Sdn Bhd.

DSA 2020 will build on the resounding success of DSA 2018 with an expected participation of some 1,500 companies from more than 60 countries.

Over 33 international pavilions are expected and DSA 2020 plans to attract more than 350 VIP delegations from over 30 countries.
