OYA: Three former community leaders were honoured in appreciation of their service and contribution by the State government.
Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah who was present at the Chinese New Year celebration held at Oya Square on Friday night, reciprocating with locals in their festivities.
At the celebrations, Fatimah presented certificates of appreciations to three senior tribal leaders (ketua kaum), five certificates of appointment to five newly appointed tribal leaders, six re-appointment certificates to current tribal leaders and one re-appointment certificate to the headsman (penghulu).
The Dalat assemblywoman also expressed and acknowledged her thanks to the outgoing tribal leaders for the dedication in their service and contribution.
She also welcomed the newly appointed tribal leaders, expressing her hopes and best wishes to them so they would serve with dedication and integrity.
