DEBAK: From children’s appreciation letters to drawings and poems, many Malaysians have expressed their appreciation not only to the frontliners for their sacrifices but also to the whole nation for uniting as one during this Covid-19 crisis.

Among these Malaysians is local poet Abang Busri Abang Morni who recently saw the drawings of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah by a local makeup artist Odiliawati Yusop, also known as Haghia Sophia, from Kampung Debak.

Touched by her initiative, he composed a poem entitled ‘Apresiasi Untuk Haghia Sophia’ in appreciation of her artworks.

“Everyone has their own ways of expressing their heartfelt appreciation and for myself, I love to express mine through poetry writing,” he told Suara Sarawak on Saturday.

Abang Busri added, “Since we cannot assist the frontliners physically, this is one of the ways we can express our support for them. Thank you, Haghia Sophia! Thank you, Muhyiddin and thank you to all frontliners including the unsung heroes!”

Among them are Debak Usah Menangis, Suatu Penghargaan, Terima Kasih Cikgu, Apresiasi Haghia Untuk Wira, Apresiasi untuk Haghia Sophia, Wajah Kebiasaan Baru, Untukmu Saribas, and Esok Pasti Bersinar.

He urged all Malaysians to comply with the MCO in order to help the government and the frontliners break the chain of the Covid-19 outbreak.
