Salvation Army receives RM4 mln

KUCHING: The state government, through the Unit For Other Religions (Unifor), has given a RM4 million grant to the Salvation Army.

The grant is for the construction of the welfare body’s new home.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas presented a cheque to the Salvation Army regional officer for Malaysia, Major Francis Ng, today.

The state government had provided a 3.035-hectare site in Kota Samarahan for the purpose.

Also present at the presentation ceremony were Unifor director Richard Lon, Association of Churches Sarawak secretary-general Ambrose Linang and Salvation Army Kuching team leader Capt Raymond R Aloba.
