KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received a courtesy call from the organising committee of a thanksgiving and ‘zikir maulid’ (recitation) ceremony and the opening of Taman Islam Darul Hana, Majlis Perhimpunan Maulidur Rasul as well as state-level Tilawah Recital and Al-Quran Memorisation event at his office in Demak Jaya here today.

The delegation was led by Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) cum Assistant Minister of Utilities (Water Supply) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi and Sarawak Islamic Council president Datuk Misnu Taha as co-advisors of the committee.

The purpose of the courtesy call was to invite Taib to the events.

The recitation ceremony as well as the inauguration of Taman Islam Darul Hana will be held at Masjid Darul Hana, Petra Jaya on Oct 28 while the Majlis Perhimpunan Maulidur Rasul will be held on Oct 29 at Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Majma Hall, Islamic Complex.

The state-level Tilawah Recital and Al-Quran Memorisation event will be held on Nov 7 to 10, also at the Majma Hall of Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah, Islamic Complex.

Also present during the courtesy call were Kuching Division Resident Sherrina Hussaini and Sarawak Islamic Religious Department director Khalidi Ibrahim.
