Two lorries wrecked in a collision yesterday in Samalaju Industrial area.

BINTULU: A lorry driver was killed in a collision with another lorry in Samalaju Industrial area, Jalan Persisir Bintulu-Miri this early morning.

Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the accident occurred around 4.30am at a three-way junction.

It happened when one of the lorries was moving along a straight road and another lorry suddenly came out of a junction and crashed into it.

“The lorry driver identified as Anggat Ukam, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

“The body was later taken to Bintulu Hospital for post mortem,” he said.

As for the other driver he only sustained injuries and was taken to Bintulu Hospital.

Alexson said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
