KUCHING: Sarawak State Library in collaboration with the Sarawak Society for the Blind ( SSB ) and National Council for the Blind, Malaysia ( NCBM ) will be organising a ‘Train the Trainer’ workshop begining today until 29th October 2017 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm that will take place at the library’s ICT Training Room.

As we all know, finding a job nowadays is difficult for everyone especially for the blind and visually impaired. This is because a lot of work depends on the function of eyes.

Therefore, the Sarawak Society for the Blind (SSB) together with the Sarawak State Library and National Council for the Blind, Malaysia ( NCBM ) are taking the initiatives to assist the blind and visually impaired to seek for employment through this series of ‘Train the Trainer’ workshop.

SSB also believes that the blind and visually impaired have their own unique specialties, skills and talents. This training will focus in improving the participants’ skill and competency as well as to ensure that they are ready to compete in the job market. For a start, this workshop will kick off with the introduction of an open source screen reader, Non-Visual Desktop Access (NVDA).
