MIRI: Miri district will begin its inoculation programme this Saturday (March 6) by first vaccinating the frontliners.

The inoculation programme will begin at 3pm, said Minister in charge of this division’s Disaster Management Committee (MDMC, Datuk Lee Kim Shin on Sunday evening after chairing a meeting via Zoom with committee members of MDMC.

The meeting was also attended by Acting Miri Resident cum MDMC chairman Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf, Miri Hospital director Doctor Jack Wong and Acting Miri Health Officer Dr P Raviwharmman.

Lee, who is also Transport Minister, added the inoculation programme on March 6 would start simultaneously at two venues — a multipurpose hall of Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club and Dato Permaisuri multipurpose hall in Permyjaya.

“The recipients of this first batch of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine will receive two doses and there will be an interval of 21 days between the first and second dose,” he explained.

In Miri district, a total six vaccination centres have been identified and would be used for the inoculation drive.
