SIBU: A single mother, Teresa Santa Angil, 44, and her five children are suffering in Puchong, a major town in Selangor, after being abandoned by her husband and their father three years ago.

According to a story published by the Peninsular Borneo Children’s Association (ABS), Teresa hails from Engkalat Bukit Aup near here.

“I live in hardship and raise children alone after being abandoned by my husband while pregnant with my youngest child, about three years ago. I also don’t work because I take care of my young children.

“I have not been able to pay my house rent for two years and our daily food depends on donations from the public,” said the mother of five children aged 17, 13, 11, four and two years old respectively.

Teresa also has to walk 30 minutes every day to send her son to school because she cannot afford the bus fare.

Now, the Peninsular Borneo Children’s Association together and the management of Rumah Sarawak are trying to help her family.
