Miri’s Coco Cabana set to welcome jazz music lovers

KUCHING: Coco Cabana, an event space in Miri’s Marina Bay, will be the main venue for the Borneo Jazz Festival.

The Sarawak Tourism Board in a statement on Wednesday (June 8) said this year’s event would be particularly special as it would be held in a hybrid format – festival-goers can enjoy in person at Coco Cabana or via livestream from anywhere in the world from June 24-26.

Themed “Jazz in The Jungle”, the 17th edition has attracted performers from countries such as Singapore, Japan, France, Switzerland, the USA, Hungary and India.

Fun activities will also be held on the sidelines of the event such as Eco Art Project, Borneo Boat Lute Exhibition, Miri Sape Movement – ‘Evolution of the Sape’, Wellness Programme and Artisanal Craft Bazaar.

For the public category, 1 Day Pass is priced at RM128 per ticket, 2 Day Pass is RM228 per ticket and 3 Day Pass is RM338 per ticket. As for students and senior citizens, 1 Day Pass is priced at RM88 per ticket, 2 Day Pass is RM128 per ticket
and 3 Day Pass is RM188 per ticket.

For those who want to enjoy the event virtually, tickets are priced at RM25 per viewing block.

Some of the performers include Singapore’s Alemay Fernandez, the USA’s Richard Jackson, Italy’s Nikko Ielasi and Adriano Matkovich, Malaysia’s Arthur Kam and, Japan’s Gecko and Tokage Parade.
