KUCHING: The International Journal of Business Events and Legacies (IJBEL) will officially be launched on Nov 30 at the Business Events Tribal Meet (TriBE Assembly).

According to Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) chief executive officer Amelia Roziman, IJBEL is designed for events and tourism practitioners to learn how others are doing business events.

“From there, they can apply other’s concepts, practices, and create their own. As we already have 10 papers in this first journal, it proves that business events are worth more than bringing the delegate number. It has an impact.”

She said this during the soft launch of IJBEL, Volume 1 here on Tuesday (Nov 1).

In light of this, she pointed out that Sarawak’s business event industry is proactive in searching for new ways to deliver business events successfully and lead the way in terms of industry development.

“We are looking outwards to help the global industry reset and recover through empirical research and real industry experiences.

“This involves forging collaborations at micro and macro levels with local, national and international players.

“For us, IJBEL sends that strong message about collaboration. Aside from creating opportunities for everyone to collaborate in different skills, it also provides an excellent platform for cross sector collaboration as well.”

Amelia expressed her thanks to strategic partners and the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts for believing in BESarawak.

“Business events are more than just corporate social responsibility. It is on how business events can impact sectors, community, politics, environment and much more.

“I believe that without the strategic partners and the ministry, publishing this journal will not be a huge success. For that, I would like to thank them for the collaboration and making this achievable,” she added.
