KUCHING: The much-anticipated Sarawak: Theatre of Clothes has highlighted the region’s mastery in combining traditional and ethnic prints with modern styles.
The event which took place at Waterfront Hotel here on Saturday night featured designers who have made a name in local and international high fashion runaways with their unique fusion of urban, contemporary and ethnic motifs.
Among the fashion designers with trending labels were Edric Ong, Dato Tom Abang Saufi, Ramsay Ong, Tanoti, Neng Kho Razali and Ong Shunmugam.
Datin Amar Jumaani Tuanku Bujang was the guest-of-honour at the event.
The collections included pua kumbu design, batik printing, songket hand-weaving and many more.
Apart from featuring fabric and textile collections, the fashion gala also saw tattoo art of modern and traditional styles.
