KUCHING: The Miri Indian Association will continue to engage with different races through community activities.
Its president Cr Karambir Singh said other communities in Miri were always involved in the programmes or activities organised by the association.
“I would also like to thank the public for their strong support for the Indian community here.
“Your involvement in many Indian festivities and activities has been much appreciated by the members of the Indian community,” he said.
Karambir was speaking at the association’s Diwali Celebration held recently at the Dynasty Hotel in Miri.
Touching on the celebration, he said finally, the Indian community was able to get together after two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The event symbolised the victory of good over evil and light over darkness,” he said.
During the event, 100 people from different backgrounds were served with a dinner and entertained by various multicultural dance performances.
