SARATOK: Kabong will open another Covid-19 vaccination centre (PPV) for its residents at the local police station hall.

Krian assemblyman Datuk Ali Biju said in a statement today that the new vaccination centre will start operating on June 14, with the purpose to increase the rate of vaccinations.

Other than that, he said the centre is an addition to three other vaccination centres, namely Sri Krian Hall, Saratok Hospital and Saratok PMG Clinic.

He also told in the statement that an outreach programme will be held with the establishment of the mobile immunisation team to go to non-accessible rural areas.

“The programme is a strategy of the Saratok district health office to ensure that herd immunity will be achieved quickly and making sure that no one is left behind.

“The immunisation team will start their operation on June 14 at their designated locations,” said Ali.

At the same time, Ali, who is also Saratok MP, visited Saratok district health office at Wisma Persekutuan Saratok to monitor the Covid-19 operation room responsible for the district.

Apart from that, his visit was also for the purpose to give moral support to the frontline workers who have been working hard thus far.

Ali also said that four laptops were donated to the Sri Krian Hall vaccination centre to help the process of the vaccination programme.

He was also briefed on the Covid-19 situation in Saratok by Saratok district health officer Dr Syafiq Ameerul.

“Saratok has changed its status from red zone to yellow zone when the district was able to record less than 40 positive cases in the past 14 days.

“However, Kabong also changed its status from yellow zone to red zone after recording 96 positive cases in at least 25 days ago involving the Gerigat Cluster,” he stated.

The cluster was caused by the act of an individual returning home for Hari Raya Aidilfitri from another district.

“I urge the public in Saratok to be vigilant and safe when going outside. Also, please register for the vaccination programme through the district office or using the MySejahtera application.

“Your registration for the vaccination programme will help to achieve the herd immunity as quickly as we can,” said Ali.
