KUCHING: Twenty-seven aspiring gymnasts throughout the state took the Rhythmic Gymnastics Grading Competition as an opportunity to demonstrate their talent.

The one-day competition yesterday (July 2), organised by the Sarawak Amateur Gymnastics Association (SAGYMA), was held at the MMA Sports Hub here.

“The objective of the grading competition was to provide a platform for gymnasts to demonstrate their skills and receive valuable feedback from judges in their rhythmic gymnastics journey,” said Owen Voon Boo Khoon, the organising chairman.

Supported by the Malaysian Gymnastics Federation, Sarawak Sports Corporation, Majlis Sukan Negeri Sarawak and Majlis Sukan Sekolah Negeri Sarawak, the competition, he said, brought together gymnasts of various skill levels and age groups.

“It is truly inspiring to witness the passion and commitment of these young gymnasts. The competition serves as a testament to their talent and the future of rhythmic gymnastics in Sarawak,” he added.

Sarawak Sports Corporation chief executive officer Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan graced the event.
