KUCHING: Atok Derop, Village Chief of Kampung Gumbang, has been appointed as the new Temenggong of the Bidayuh community in Kuching Division, taking over from Datuk Austin Dimin Niyon.
Hailing from the Bau district, his appointment letter was presented by Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development at the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) Building on Monday.
In congratulating the new Temenggong, Sagah hoped Atok could work closely with the district officers and people’s representatives of Kuching Division.
Also present were Deputy Secretary of the Sarawak government (administration) Datuk Buckland Bangik and Kuching Resident Norleha Shariff.
