KUCHING: Over 20 needy children from  Kuching and Samarahan Divisions were  treated to an early back-to-school shopping.

The assistance, which was provided by Gracious Giving Charitable Movement, is to equip the children from the low income families from various racial and religious backgrounds, for their school session next year.

Held on Sunday, at the Masjid Darul Hana, along Jalan Tol, the programme marked the fifth year of Gracious Giving Charitable Movement existence.

This is part of the association’s efforts to help the local needy, by providing school supplies to the disadvantaged families.

Among the assistance received were backpacks, school uniforms, shoes and other study materials and supplies.

The programme held on Dec 16 2018 was jointly organised with the Malaysia Chinese Muslim Association (Macma) Sarawak branch, SJKC Chung Hua No 4 and public volunteers.
