He was welcomed by the centre’s chairman Royston Valentine, who was also a former member of Mukah Parliament Youth.

Abdul Yakub’s informal visit to the centre was one of a number of trips made
including formal ones.

It showed that as the people’s representative, he also cared and looked after the interest of youth in his constituency and Mukah in general.

The visit was a bit of a surprise to those present because Abdul Yakub was accompanied by Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) Digital Village head Hazwan Razak.

During the visit, they discussed among other things, future plans to expand the centre especially related to youth entrepreneurship.

The centre’s current activity includes barber services, and food and drinks trading
operated by the youth.

It was also used as an exhibition centre by members of Rejang Fine Artists Group (RFAG) during the
Kaul Festival in April.
