BAU: The old Bau District Office will undergo a makeshift renovation, and once completed, it will immediately turn into new Bau Maternal and Child Health Clinic.

Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said the current maternal and child health clinic at the Bau Hospital is congested; therefore, the move would provide better convenience for the mothers and their children.

Henry speaks at the press conference.

“When the clinic is completed, it will be much closer to town, accessible to the public, and have better parking spaces.

“These are the efforts made to assist the people of Bau as well as provide better healthcare for them,” he said in a press conference after officiating the Bau District Complex key handover ceremony at the complex yesterday (July 7).

He added that once the old Bau District Office has been cleared off, the state Health Department can immediately move in.

“The building is old, but it is in good condition; the air conditioning is functioning well; tables and chairs are all available.

“The Sarawak Health Department has made several visits to the old Bau District Office, so it is only a matter of time before the move happens.

“The current Bau Hospital is too congested, and this will help the mothers and the children,” he said.

In the meantime, Henry reminded senior citizens aged 60 and above to apply for the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) if they have not done so.

Among those present were Bau district officer Constantine Gerald David Jonas and Bau District Public Works Department engineer Sandra Jujane Jutem.
