BCCK hosts children of Rumah Kanak-Kanak Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah Kuching

KUCHING: Some 86 children of Rumah Kanak-Kanak Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah Kuching attended the ‘Juh Sungkei di BCCK’ Ramadan Buffet yesterday held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

Host BCCK shared the blessings of the holy month with children’s age three to eighteen years old in the spirit of Ramadan.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg and wife Datin Patinggi Datuk Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang were present to grace the event.

BCCK chairman Datuk Raziah Mahmud-Geneid said the event was part of BCCK’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

“BCCK has been supporting various organisations as an important component of the centre’s CSR initiatives.

“We are honoured to be given this opportunity to share our blessings together with these children in the spirit of giving and receiving during this holy month,” she said.

Meanwhile, BCCK CEO Eric van Piggelen said BBCK never failed to organise this annual programme.

“BCCK has been privileged to be given this opportunity to have this yearly programme with various children’s homes since 2011,” he said.

“Nothing brings us more pleasure and joy than giving back to the community. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our honoured guests,” he added.

The chief minister later gave ‘duit raya’ to the children.

A cheque was also presented by Raziah to Rumah Kanak-Kanak Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah.
