KUCHING: Officers, rank and file, and civilian staff of the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) should behave appropriately at all times.
Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata echoed the call made by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani who recently reminded the police force in the previous monthly meeting on the importance of behaving accordingly.
“Any sort of criminal behaviour or disciplinary violation will be subject to strict action.
“The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will not compromise with anyone disobeying or bringing down the image of the force.
“This is not intended to oppress but, they themselves are oppressing the team. We do not want the majority to be bound by the attitude of only a group that doesn’t love the team,” he said during the Sarawak IPK’s monthly assembly today.
Mancha also reminded district police chiefs on the IGP’s call to emphasise the supervisory element to all employees through the ‘transparent from top to bottom’ approach, adding that all supervising officers must also set a good example for their officers and subordinates.
“Therefore, I hope that all department heads, formation heads, district police chiefs, senior officers and supervisors will heed the IGP’s call.”
Meanwhile, on the contingent’s performance throughout the first quarter of 2023, he expressed satisfaction in both their administrative tasks and policing operations.
“I sincerely hope that the resolve and commitment shown by each police officer will lead to even greater service delivery performance, particularly in preserving safety and security in the state.
“I have faith that our contingent will be able to live up to community expectations and be on the right track to serve as a guide for all PDRM citizens,” he said.
