BINTULU: Seven firemen from Samalaju fire station were deployed to a chemical plant here last Tuesday night to remove beehives from one of its boilers.

According to the local Fire and Rescue operations centre, a large swarm of bees had congregated at the area, prompting the plant to get help from the firemen at 8.14pm.

It took the men less than 30 minutes to remove the beehives safely.

The chemical plant is located about six kilometres from Samalaju fire station.
