The Kedah-born said she is determined to fulfil her duties to the best of her abilities, with the support of all levels, in order to drive success and meet the demands of clients and readers for accurate and trusted news and information.

“This is a milestone for my female journalist colleagues at Bernama because, after 56 years, we finally have a woman as the editor-in-chief. It is a huge task and a challenging responsibility.

“I also would like to express my gratitude to my late father, Kamaludin Abdul Razak, or AR Kamaludin, for providing encouragement and space to explore the field of journalism,” she said.

Bernama has announced the appointment of Nur-ul Afida, 56, as its new editor-in-chief, effective yesterday.
