KUCHING: The Bersama InvestSmart®@ Sarawak 2022 organised by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) is taking place here for the first time since 2019.
According to a statement, the two day event (Sept 17-18) which will be held at Vivacity Megamall will carry the theme ‘Silap Labur Duit Lebur’.
“This particular theme was chosen to raise awareness on the importance of financial and retirement planning, create awareness of the opportunity to increase their wealth by investing in legitimate investment products offered in the Malaysian capital market as well as raise awareness on investment scams and frauds,” it said.
Furthermore, it stated that the event will bring together capital market institutions, associations, industry players and relevant agencies under one roof.
“For that, the event will feature over 25 exhibitors representing key capital market players in Sarawak showcasing products and services offered by capital market intermediaries including stocks, bonds, unit trusts, private retirement schemes (PRS), exchange-traded funds (ETF), equity crowdfunding (ECF), peer-to-peer financing (P2P), digital investment management (DIM) and digital asset exchanges (DAX)
“Moreover, there will also be talks and panel discussions by industry experts who will share their insights of the Malaysian capital market and investment opportunities available,” it said.
As the event is nearing, SC is inviting the public to attend the event while standing a chance to win lucky draws by participating in pop quizzes held throughout the event.
“As in previous years, we will offer complimentary financial planning sessions under the #FinPlan4u.
“Licensed financial planners will be giving out 160 free sessions as part of this initiative, available on a first-come-first-serve basis,” it said.
Bersama InvestSmart®@ Sarawak 2022 is part of the SC’s InvestSmart® initiative, a comprehensive and inclusive investment literacy outreach launched in 2014.
