SIBU: Two men were arrested for allegedly going berserk while wielding a meat cleaver in front of a shop at Jalan Bukit Assek car park around 11.30am yesterday (August 12).

Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the father-son duo, aged 33 and 69, were apprehended at their residence around 4pm.

“The incident is caused by their anger and dissatisfaction with noise coming from a car’s audio system being tested at an automobile accessory shop located about 10 metres away from their house.

“An argument ensued between the suspects and several male customers from the automobile accessory shop.

“The suspect allegedly threatened and exhibited a weapon, although no injuries occurred,” he said in a statement today (August 13).

Zulkipli said that the police confiscated the weapons for further investigation, and the case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code.

“The police are advising the public to refrain from speculating about the incident as an investigation is underway,” Zulkipli added.

Earlier, a 1-minute-and-46-second video went viral on Facebook, depicting the suspects going berserk while holding a meat cleaver.
