Big crowds greet PM for breaking of fast

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Around 2000 guests showed their excitement as they welcomed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the state leaders during the Madani Sarawak 2024 breaking of fast ceremony held at Al-Muttaqin mosque today (March 30).

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar distributed cash aid to welfare recipients.

In a generous disbursement, every recipient under the Department of Social Welfare within the district of Kuching, Kota Samarahan, and Serian were given cash aid of RM100 per person along with food aid.

After the breaking of fast ceremony, Anwar together with state leaders and other guests attended terawih prayers at the Al-Muttaqin mosque.

Also present were Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, State Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah as well as Federal Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

Anwar’s entourage included Health Minister, Datuk Dzulkefly Ahmad and Education Minister, Fadhlina Sidek.
