DALAT: Four members of a family were left with nothing but the clothes on their back after their single-storey house at Kampung Hilir, here was razed to the ground on yesterday (Nov 20).
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident happened around 6.15 pm.
Firemen from the Mukah station and Dalat auxiliary firemen were promptly despatched to the scene. However, the wooden house was beyond saving by the time the firefighters arrived at the scene.
Extinguishing work was carried out using two 200-foot water hoses with open water source.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. The victims aged between 12 and 80, are currently staying at their relative’s place.
After ensuring that the situation was safe, the firefighters wrapped up the operation at 7.45 pm.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
Also present at the scene were the police and Civil Defence Force (APM).
