KUCHING: The Youth Section of the Kuching and Samarahan Pan Chern Liew Clan Association and Ghee Hua Co will be organising a blood donation campaign this Sunday (Oct 10) from 9am to 2pm at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Blood Bank.

It said the campaign is being organised in conjunction with the Malaysia Liu Clan Association blood donation month.

“The campaign will be facilitated by the Federation of Kuching and Samarahan Divisions Chinese Associations Youth Section, Sarawak (Federation Youth) and supported by SGH Blood Bank and the Malaysian Red Crescent Kuching District.

“It is in response to a call by SGH for more blood supply as well as to create public awareness of the noble deed of saving life through blood donation.

“However, it is informed that the supply of AB blood has reached a very good level thus to avoid excessive supplies, AB blood donors should delay their donation for four months,” it said in a statement yesterday (Oct 6).

“We would like to thank SGH for providing the venue as well as our major sponsors for their generous support.

“As a token of appreciation from the organiser, each successful donor that day will walk away with Kokokam products, sponsored by Chenson Health Product Sdn Bhd; canned drinks (Sundrop Juices Sdn Bhd); margarine (Syarikat Kion Hoong Cooking Oil Mills Sdn Bhd); vermicelli or bee hoon (Kuching Bb Bee Hoon Factory); tissue papers (Multiply Paper Products Company); biscuits (Choon Hua Trading Corporation Sdn Bhd); milk (Supreme Food Supply (M) Sdn Bhd); meal coupons and white sugar (Taiwan Siau Jou & Mr Ng Zen Tze); rice (Viva Future Sdn Bhd); and Samudra mini chocolate moist cake (Liew Clan Youth Group chairman Liew Sik Chai).
