KUCHING: Bomba’s swift action extinguished fire in a dumpster, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.
Residents in the vicinity noticed the incident and alerted the authorities.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that firemen from the Batu Lintang fire station were dispatched to the scene following an emergency call around 10.11 pm.
Upon their arrival, the firefighters discovered the blaze was confined to a dumpster behind the CL Khoon Electrical shophouse in MJC, Batu Kawa.
The firefighters prevented the fire from spreading and brought it under control by 10.40 pm.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
