Brunei passport ranks 16th most powerful globally

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: With visa-free or visa on arrival access to 153 countries or destinations, Brunei’s passport was ranked 16th most powerful globally in the latest Arton Capital’s Global Passport Index, reported Xinhua News Agency.

According to local daily the Borneo Bulletin on Sunday, the index is a ranking of all the passports of the world based on the number of countries their holders can visit without having to apply for a visa.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was ranked the second year as the most powerful passport, giving its citizens the ability to travel visa-free or visa on arrival to a total of 179 countries or destinations.

Behind UAE are Germany, Finland, Luxembourg and Spain with visa-free travel to 172 countries and destinations; and Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, Ireland and the United States for 171 countries. – Bernama
