KUCHING: Three workers narrowly escaped fire that destroyed their home at KD Timber Tatau, Bintulu on Friday afternoon.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received an emergency call at 2.09 pm and promptly sent a team from Tatau fire station, located 12 kilometres from the site.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a three-unit worker’s residence completely engulfed in flames. Fortunately, all three occupants had managed to evacuate without sustaining any injuries.

Firefighting efforts included using water from both the fire engine’s tank and additional water pumps available at the site. The operation was successful and the area was secured by 3.25 pm.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are still under investigation.
