Business owners slapped with RM1,000 fine each

SIBU: Five business premises owners here were each fined RM1,000 for violating conditional movement control order (CMCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs) on Thursday (March 11).

Sibu District police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the Covid-19 CMCO SOP team led by ASP Kushairy Bujang conducted an operation from 11am to 3pm at Sibu Express Bus Terminal in Jalan Pelawan, Jalan Pedada and Delta Mall commercial area.

“Five business premises were found not complying with SOP … did not provide MySejahtera QR code, temperature checker, customer log book and hand sanitiser at their shops.

“The individuals, aged between 25 and 49, have been fined according to Regulation 17(1) of the Infectious Diseases Control Regulations (No.4) 2021.”

ACP Stanley added that 24 members from nine different government departments and agencies also joined the operation.
