LUNDU: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) has urged voters support the Gabungan Parti Sarawak candidate in Mas Gading in the 15th general election.

PDP president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing admitted the mistake made during the last general election when the party contested under the Barisan Nasional (BN) ticket and lost the seat.

Therefore, he said, in GE15, PDP, which would use the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) ticket, would field a new face, Lidang Disen for the seat.

“As the president, I would like to apologise for the mistake that had happened before.

“In the past, there were mistakes made here and there when we were still in BN.

“As humans, we are prone to make mistakes and have shortcomings. As such, we will try our best to rectify our mistakes,” he said.

Tiong said this when met by the media after he officiated at the “Majlis Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat” at Dewan Kampung Pasir Hulu, Lundu yesterday (Nov 11).

For the record, Mas Gading, which was previously one of the party’s strongholds, was seized by Democratic Action Party (DAP) in GE14.

DAP candidate Mordi Bimol surprisingly defeated BN candidate Nogeh Gumbek with a narrow victory of 3,024 majority votes.
